Pre-primary course (adaptation)

Pre-primary classes play a crucial role in preparing young children, particularly kindergarteners, for the transition to primary school.

As children transition from pre-primary classes to primary school, especially in an international school setting, the environment they will encounter can be very different from what they are accustomed to.

With a focus on both academic readiness and emotional support, the program aims to make the transition smooth and seamless, ensuring your child enters primary school feeling equipped, confident, and excited for the next step in their learning journey.

This course focuses on developing the essential skills that kindergarteners need to successfully transition to primary school. These skills include:

  •  Basic Literacy Skills: Recognizing letters, sounds, and simple words to build reading and writing confidence.
  • Numeracy Skills: Understanding numbers, basic addition and subtraction, shapes, and patterns to form a strong foundation in mathematics.
  • Social Skills: Learning to communicate effectively, cooperate with peers, share, and resolve conflicts in a group setting.
  • Self-Regulation: Developing emotional control, focus, and the ability to follow instructions and routines independently.
  • Critical Thinking: Encouraging problem-solving, creativity, and the ability to ask questions and explore new ideas.
  • Motor Skills: Strengthening some gross motor skills (like running, jumping, and balancing).
  • Listening and Comprehension: Following multi-step directions, listening to stories, and answering questions to improve attention and comprehension.
  • Cultural Awareness: Gaining an understanding of diverse cultures and adapting to an international environment with respect and curiosity.

 

These foundational skills will help your child feel confident and prepared as they embark on their primary school journey.
